About Flooring Kemah: We Look Before We Lay

We are a flooring installer in Kemah, TX, and every job starts the same way. We find out why the old floor failed, or what the new one will sit on. Then we recommend a material and a method that suit your home, and we install it with care.

Why we look underneath first

Most flooring problems people call us about are not really about the surface. A cupped hardwood board, a vinyl plank that keeps separating, a tile that sounds hollow underfoot: each one usually points to something below it. It could be moisture rising through a concrete slab, a subfloor that flexes, an underlayment that was skipped, or a floor that was never given room to expand.

So before we talk about colors or plank widths, we look. We check the slab or subfloor for moisture and flatness, note any soft spots, and ask how the room is used day to day. In a humid coastal climate, that step often decides whether a floor stays flat or starts lifting at the edges by the next summer.

Once we know the cause, choosing a material gets simpler. Sometimes the answer is luxury vinyl plank over a proper vapor barrier. Sometimes it is tile on a leveled slab, or engineered hardwood instead of solid. We explain the reasoning in plain terms, so you decide with the full picture rather than a sales pitch.

How we handle your home and your floor

  1. 01

We measure moisture instead of guessing

We test the slab or subfloor before any material is ordered. If the readings are high, we tell you and plan around it with the right barrier, adhesive or product.

  2. 02

An honest answer on what you need

If a smaller repair will solve the problem, we say so. We would rather install the right floor once than sell a bigger job that hides the real cause.

  3. 03

    Prep work nobody sees

Leveling low spots, patching, undercutting door jambs so planks slide in cleanly, and leaving expansion gaps at the walls. This is the part that decides how a floor feels and looks years from now.

  4. 04

    Care inside your home

We protect furniture and the rooms next to the work, keep cutting dust contained as far as we can, and haul away old flooring and scraps when we finish.
